We've set up a newsletter template in Drupal that allows departments/programs to create e-newsletters that can include articles, photos or text blocks. Bob Marteal is available to help anyone who wants to send out a department-branded newsletter. Contact him at rtm9@cornell.edu. He can also train you on how to use the template with Lyris.
